Theme: Master, the Tempest is Raging

Transfers! Im going to Viana. Its bitter sweet. Im excited, but sad to leave at the same time. But all in all, im looking forward to it!

One of the great things of the church is modern revelation and a living prophet. Serving a mission, I've tried my best to explain things as simple as i could. So in simpler words, God speaks with us! meaning me and you!

Sometimes we're slow to recognize what He's saying. I've found that He speaks to us with themes. What i mean by that is that Heavenly Father will send the message to us multiple times and in different ways so that we can understand and recognize it better.

One theme I've been noticing in my life this past month or so is the hymn/story: Master, the Tempest is Raging. It started out with a lesson to a less active. Before we started the lesson, he wanted to sing Mestre, O Mar se Revolta. So we did. It was a cool experience. Then I started learning to play it on the piano. At our Zone Conference a couple weeks ago, Sister Merrill gave an awesome training on the tempests in our lives and how the Savior has the power to calm the storms in our lives. She talked about nights that she would stay awake looking out the window, waiting for the sun to come up. And in the end, she said after every storm, comes the rainbow. Also as i was looking for pics to put on my next planner, I found a picture of the sea with some of the words from the hymn. Which is now on my planner :) And more experiences. But I really have come to learn that on the mish. That the Lord really is All-Powerful. And sometimes all we need to do is ask him for help. And we dont have to wait til the storm is in full force either. Sometimes I'll find myself feeling down, and i'll say a quick prayer to cheer me up. It works, Try it!

  1. 1. Master, the tempest is raging!
    The billows are tossing high!
The sky is o'ershadowed with blackness.
No shelter or help is nigh.
Carest thou not that we perish?
    How canst thou lie asleep
When each moment so madly is threat'ning
A grave in the angry deep?
  2. (Chorus)
The winds and the waves shall obey thy will:
    Peace, be still.
Whether the wrath of the storm-tossed sea
Or demons or men or whatever it be,
No waters can swallow the ship where lies
The Master of ocean and earth and skies.
They all shall sweetly obey thy will:
Peace, be still; peace, be still.
They all shall sweetly obey thy will:
    Peace, peace, be still.
  3. 2. Master, with anguish of spirit
I bow in my grief today.
The depths of my sad heart are troubled.
Oh, waken and save, I pray!
Torrents of sin and of anguish
    Sweep o'er my sinking soul,
And I perish! I perish! dear Master.
    Oh, hasten and take control!
  4. 3. Master, the terror is over.
    The elements sweetly rest.
Earth's sun in the calm lake is mirrored,
    And heaven's within my breast.
    Linger, O blessed Redeemer!
    Leave me alone no more,
And with joy I shall make the blest harbor
And rest on the blissful shore
Love,
Elder Money
